Submitted graphics requirements

If you choose to send us any custom images or artwork, please can you ensure that they fall into the following requirements:

  • We can accept most file types, though what we really prefer is a print ready PDF.
  • We can work with Word, Excel, Publisher if you have these formats, though these are easy to save as PDF’s before supplying - but if you can’t then don’t worry, we can do this for you.
  • Most pixel based files we can also use, such as Jpegs, Tiffs or PNG’s - please ensure these are saved as a minimum of 300dpi to prevent pixelation.
  • We can also work with Native Files, such as Quark Express or Illustrator - please ensure though to supply Fonts and Graphics and were possible convert fonts to outlines.
  • If your files are a bit more out of the ordinary then please still send them as we will still be able to convert to a printable format.
  • If you only a rough idea of what you want, then just sketch it and scan and email it and our design team will draw the form up for you, or you could use one of our downloadable templates.
  • Though ultimately we can work with any file type - if you wish to discuss please just call.

Supplying Artwork

We do prefer files as print ready PDF’s and these are becoming the standard now of transferring files.

If you are preparing a PDF from a desktop publishing programme such as Indesign then you have complete control of your PDF creation - ensure you check high resolution and compression should be sampled to 300dpi, and importantly font embedding should be set to embed all fonts.

Ideally we would also want the artwork to size, for example A4 or A5 depending, and with or without tick marks - our imposition programme takes care of that! Though if your artwork bleeds then please add 3mm bleed around the form.

Please also allow a 5mm safe edge around the form - this makes for an aesthetically better looking finished design.

Next Steps

Once we have received your graphics, our design team will draft up your chosen product for review. We will email you a free PDF proof to approve after your order draft has been finalised.

If you have amends needed to the image you supplied, then you will need to resubmit your amended artwork. New approval of the amended proof will be required, no matter how minor the changes may be.

Please note, it is vital you check your proof draft thoroughly, as any errors or omissions not spotted once the artwork has been approved will be solely your responsibility.
