At NCRPrintOnline, we are often asked by customers what is sequential numbering? Sequential numbering, which is also known as ‘consecutive numbering’, refers to the printing of ascending or descending numbers so that each printed page on our NCR products receives its own unique number.
Sequential numbering printing can be added on any item that needs a unique identification. Commonly, sequential numbering is used on a variety of multi-part NCR sets and padded documents, such as contracts, invoices, purchase orders, receipts and order forms. In addition to providing a method for easy reference, sequential numbers provide a high degree of accounting control.
How to use sequential numbering in printing?
Sequential numbering is commonly used on carbonless forms, also known as NCR printed books , pads and forms. It can also be used on other printed items like raffle tickets where you need a unique identifying number. The unique number position is fully customisable and can appear in a single position, or in multiple positions if required, as well as printed horizontally or vertically.
The sequential number can also be tied to a bar code which can also be printed.
Printing of sequential numbers
When developing your custom design, it is advised to consider placing a box for sequential numbering. This will make it easier for your customers or employees to find and reference a specific job or transaction when looking at paperwork.
Start your sequencing at any point you like, to pick up from where you left off on your last print order.
Numbering equipment
